Convenient Onigiri Recipe for Office Packed Lunch

Cooking Time : Approximately 30 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • Sushi rice
  • Hard-boiled eggs
  • The Laughing Cow Plain Belcube 
  • Nori seaweed sheets
  • Salt
  • Sesame oil (optional)

Measurements:

  • 2 cups of sushi rice
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs
  • 5 – 8 portion of Belcube cheese
  • 2 sheets of nori seaweed
  • Salt to taste
  • Sesame oil to taste (optional)

Method:

  1. Cut the hard-boiled eggs and cheddar cheese into small pieces.
  2. Season the sushi rice with salt to taste and add a little sesame oil if desired for extra flavor.
  3. Take a handful of rice and flatten it on the palm of a wet hand.
  4. Place pieces of egg and cheese in the center of the rice, then shape it into a ball or triangle.
  5. Wrap the onigiri with a sheet of nori seaweed and gently press to secure.
  6. Repeat this process until all rice and ingredients are used.
  7. Onigiri is ready to be enjoyed or stored in an airtight container for a convenient office lunch.
