1921 - Born in France.
The Laughing Cow was born in the village of Lons-le-Sonier, Jura, France. In fact, at that time The Laughing Cow cheese already used a unique packaging in the form of metal cans.
1924 - The famous red cow
The renowned cheese makers Léon Bel and Benjamin Rabier, the illustrator, collaborated to create The Laughing Cow’s iconic red cow logo with earrings. In the same year, the iconic triangle-shaped Laughing Cow cheese was sold in both aluminum packaging and circular cardboard boxes.
1926 - New Warehouse
Léon Bel opens the new The Laughing Cow factory in Lons-Le-Saunier in France.
1929 - All Over Europe
After establishing The Laughing Cow’s first factory outside of France, in Southampton, England, our company later also opened factories in Denmark, Germany, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, and Greece to expand its reach.
1960 - The Laughing Cow in cube
This year The Laughing Cow also appears in the cube, which is well-know as The Laughing Cow Belcube nowadays.
1974 - All over the world
Bel Groupe, which includes The Laughing Cow, now has branches all over the world: Morocco, Syria, Japan, China, United States and Australia.
2020 - The Laughing
